Attendance and Absences

Track your child's attendance history and report upcoming absences directly from Bloomily.

Viewing Attendance

Go to My Child > Attendance to see your child's attendance records. Each day shows:

  • Check-in time — When your child arrived
  • Check-out time — When your child was picked up
  • Status — Complete (checked in and out), Checked In (still at center), or Absent

If your child has multiple program segments in a day (for example, morning preschool and afternoon enrichment), each segment shows separately with its own times.

Reporting an Absence

To let the center know your child will be absent:

  1. Go to My Child > Absences
  2. Tap Report Absence
  3. Select which child (if you have more than one)
  4. Choose the date
  5. Select a reason from the dropdown (illness, family event, vacation, etc.)
  6. Add optional notes
  7. Submit

You can also report an absence from the dashboard using the Report Absence quick action.

Viewing Upcoming and Past Absences

The Absences page is split into two sections:

  • Upcoming absences — Absences you've reported for future dates, along with their approval status (Pending or Approved)
  • Past absences — Historical absence records

Kiosk Check-In

If your center uses kiosk check-in:

  1. Tap Kiosk Fast-Pass on your dashboard
  2. A QR code will appear on your screen
  3. Hold the QR code up to the kiosk scanner at the center
  4. Your child will be checked in or out

This is the fastest way to check in during busy drop-off times.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I report an absence for multiple days at once?

Currently, absences are reported one day at a time. For extended absences (like a vacation), report each day individually or message your center to let them know the full date range.

Q: My child was marked absent but they were at school. What do I do?

Contact your center through Account > Messages. The front desk can correct the attendance record.

Q: Do I need to report absences in advance?

It's helpful but not always required. Check with your center on their absence policy. Reporting early helps them plan staffing and meals.
